Last week, Wes' siblings were in town visiting (minus one sister...we missed you, Mandy!), and I was completely remiss in getting any pictures. I didn't even take one. Not one!
So, I'm hoping Brother Paul will take pity and share his with me. Hint-hint, Brother Paul.
Paint and growth has been the theme around the Fisher house lately. I'm doing the painting (well, and Wes, too), and Ava and Leah are doing the growing.
Painting:
Our bathroom project is complete (minus a wall hanging or two). The guest bathroom got a quick face-lift that took it from looking like this, the day we bought the house:
to this:
Good-bye, half wall blocking our access to the loo. Good-bye linoleum, and Formica, and painted paneling.
I also slapped some paint on this beast. It went from this, when we bought the house:
to this, when my dad & Wes changed it to a built-in desk:
to this, when I mistakenly decided to paint it black:
and, finally, to this:
I got the larger of the two chairs out of my neighbor's trash and Wes was all wa-wha?!! My decorating desperation knows no bounds.
Growing:
Ava and Leah. They're doing it.
She's wearing my glasses here and they make her look so grown up, which--if I'm forced to admit it-- she really is.
She's an avid reader and writer now, and an incredible picture maker. She asks questions that stump me and send me into an internet or book "how to talk to your five-year-old about...." tailspin. She's witty, and quirky, and feisty, and passionate. She's a bit of a smartaleck-- a title Wes and I
Oh, and let's not skirt the issue: She can throw a fit like nobody's business.
But mostly, she's just growing and maturing every single day. We love her fiercely.
There's still a bit of baby left in this one, although not much:
A self proclaimed 'mudders' girl, she is my soft, sweet, quiet, gentle baby. She's sensitive, and shy, but full of compassion. She calls her dolls "sweet girl" and "honey," and she puts her tiny palm on my cheek to tell me something important. She makes being her mama very easy, and for that, I am thankful.
February has been a good month for us. A fun month, a productive month, a short month. Looking forward to March, when the days stay lighter longer and offer things like bike rides, and park nights, and potential camping trips.
Loving this family of mine.
Until next time....
